Chris joined Gould in July of 2014, a former Division I college Basketball coach Chris has spent the past six years working at his alma mater Wilbrham & Monson Academy. As a basketball Coach Chris had an impressive career coaching and recruiting for some of the country’s top programs like Brown University, University of Pennsylvania, and here in Maine at the University of New England. As the Director of Admissions at Wilbrham & Monson, Chris put his skills and experience as a recruiter and coach to work, guiding talented and quality students through the admissions process. Chris is excited to return to Maine where he himself attended school at the University of Southern Maine. Chris lives on campus with his wife Leah and their four children, Cuyler, Keenan, Ruby, and CJ.

特色课程及项目

Gould Academy’s new Marlon Family IDEAS Center–which stands for Ideas, Design, Entrepreneurship, Arts and Science– boasts an entire floor of dedicated maker and design thinking space meant to support innovation and collaboration through creative confidence. Applying design thinking to this creative space is based on years of practice at the Institute of Design at Stanford. Using design thinking within the IDEAS Center, students and faculty are given a process––and now a physical space––for creative confidence and problem solving: start with research and empathy, fail early and often, and continue to prototype. This process fits perfectly within Gould’s mission. Design thinking roots itself in empathy and encourages students and faculty to, “…become independent-minded, ethical citizens who lead lives of purpose, action, excellence, and compassion in a dynamic world.” Design thinking is transformative and the IDEAS Center allows students to use a variety of tools to shape their ideas into physical and social solutions.
